Trying Silhouette Vinyl for the first time

I was so excited today when I stopped by Michael's and they had the Silhouette Vinyl.  The last few times I have been in the shelves have been empty.  And not only did they have several colors, they were also on sale.  SCORE!!!  I picked up a couple of colors and decided that some walls in my kitchen needed some spicing up.

I created 2 files using the Silhouette software and I am sharing them here for you as well. I didn't buy the transfer paper so we used low tack painters tape to transfer it from the backing paper to the wall.  The Silhouette scraper was also very useful during the application.

First kitchen sign was made  with a bracket from the Silhouette store and one of my favorite fonts Champagne and Limousines from Dafont. You can get it here

Download here

The second sign is Pea Sara font and you can find it here I played with the letter spacing and then welded the letters together so that it would cut as one word.

Now I am wandering around the house thinking.... what I can create next...

My new toy....Silhouette Cameo

I am so spoiled.  My Darling Husband and son gave me a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas.  I have been wanting a die cut machine for a long time but never justified spending the money on it, the Cameo is beyond anything I would have expected under the tree this year.... and I LOVE it!.

I have been spending time playing with the software and figuring out all the different tools and how they work.  YouTube is great- so many tutorials on it.

Here are my first few projects:

Gift card holder-
My husband's family always gets together after Christmas
so was a perfect chance to try it out to wrap a few of the items we take with us.
Pillow Box- I can't believe how easy it is to do

Dimensional Orchid- I used it as part of a birthday card

My creation last night- love the Chalk Studio Paper by My Mind's Eye
This is going to be a Valentine for my son,.
The Camera I used here is a FREE cut file from Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog and designer Nicole Nowosad.  Thank you!  Love how it turned out
